I was going to make my own front shackles.. 2.5" YJ's....Both the frame width and spring with are 2.5 inches. But the frame also has the bend right there and my all-pro tubes are like 4 inches wide

But my question is: Will I have to have the bend that are in the stock ones in order for them to bolt up or can I run regular flat sided shackles?????

Can I just get a longer bolt and slap some washers on it or should I put some more thought into it <IMG SRC="smilies/smile.gif" border="0">????
Also....To get an inch of lift out of the shackles with stock being 3.5" bolt hole to bolt hole, I would have to make them 5.5" bolt hole to bolt hole to achieve 1" of lift????

I've run straight ones with a stack of washers on it for over a year now. Not proud of it, but it works, and can help with flex too. I tighten them up for the road and loosen them when I get to the trail.

I have steel to make solid spacers that I'll weld to the straight sides, but just haven't done it.
