Blue RTV. Had a friend that used to work at sears, they got it in a "cheez wizz" type container. It was very handy to have around.

I use blue RTV never had a problem. I get it in the tube that fits a caulking gun works real nice!;)

I actually used both on my initial rebuilds.....but then again, I tend to overdue everything. I use the Black stuff too :D

What's the main diff between the blue and the black?? Is the blue supposed to be better when in contact with gear oils?? I know the black I have is high temp crap. :confused:

I like using the blue RTV, it makes for a pretty contrast against the black axle housing:D :D :D

I used a little blue, ran out and smeared black on the rest. It hasn't leaked yet :D

Gotta go with the Copper RVT Sealer :D


I just use whatever gasket maker I have.

I use Permatex 2B form-a-gasket. No leaks, and I love the smell :D

i used an aftermarket proper seal on the weekend, came with the rebuild kit, and im not intending to pull tis front end apart for a while

toyotas are reliable on 42s?

HELL YEAH :flipoff2:

Erik B and I used Black RTV on mine. Thanks For stoping by when we where doing the SAS. 4runner is running great now. See you at Johnson Valley. Ed
