Mt Whittier 4WD Park NH
We are working on getting this park opened legally once and for all (hopefully spring 2004). The people involved would like to hear from anyone who has any thing to say about Mt Whittier 4WD Park.working on this project for the past few years I know almost all of the negative issues at hand, but if you feel like you know something that I don't please tell me...we are looking for feed back and ideas to make the park a better place,(by the way D.Crocker has nothing to do with any 4WD/offroad (ie.truck,TC )activitys at Mt Whittier ANY MORE. and on that note we just to get an idea if we should invest any more time at Mt Whittier . So if you have been there, heard about the potential there,or know someone who has wheeled Whittier lets hear it...WHAT DO YOU THINK????????? thanks to any and all feed back and I hope to see you @ Mt whittier in 2004

Thanks for all the hard work that your doing. Whittier has some awesome trails and alot of potential. I'll look forward to running up there in the spring and maybe helping in some trail cuts, as long as it's not pouring rain and cold like the trail cut in Freedom Last Oct.

Hey John.

I just about get wood every time I drive by that place. Today on the way up to see you, with all the trails highlited in snow, that got the juices flowing. I have only been their once and was plagged with a loss of spare front axleshafts within the first hour. I would love to get up their once the 60 is in. The 44 just couldn't hack that place, 3 ujoints in an hour of wheeling. Plenty of fun to be had up their if the townspeople can be dealt with IMO.

Having wheeled there before If is a really nice place to wheel and if Dana is gone and there is some real leadership there I will go back. Yes it is worth putting the time in, there is a need for more good spots to wheel.
thanks

As was said in another post I am about an hour from there.

Have seen the mountian from the road/parking lot of the "base lodge" etc...and seen plenty of pics and some short vids...looks like lots of fun.

If access is reasonable, and the place is organized and run by people that know the sport and are willing to keep things under control (ie keep drunks etc out) it would be excellent.

I would also be willing to help with trail building in return for trail use if thats somehting anyone would consider...

I have been wheeling there once on a club run. It was a very good time. Even though it was a few years ago it had a lot of potential and I'm sure it still does. I hope wish u the best of luck in setting this up and if you need assistance dont be afraid to call on the NH people to do what we can.

Re: helll yea!!

There are plenty of places to stay up there, it is the northern end of the lakes region with Lake Ossipee right across the street. My club always stays at Witts End Campground, $10/night with heated jacuzi and pool. The camp ground is about 500 feet from the base of the mountain. Major vacation area with lots of other stuff to do. The best news is that Jonny's shop is right there with all the tools and parts to repair foriegn or domestic vehicles. Hell john even rents and sells vehicles. If in the event that it does fly in the spring, please feel free to contact my club to hook up. We would be more than happy to show anyone around.

John,
I know Yankee Toys has been trying to work with them. You might want to contact their Vice President, he possibly has more information, I know he has been in contact with them. The town of Ossipee, I understand, is hostile to motorized recreation but this is the live free or die state and the town doesn't own the land. It would be nice to have an OHRV park just a few minutes up the road. :grinpimp:
