It started like this. 1983 CJ7, blown 258, useless T4, D300.


Then I did this.


Tearing it down. Doner D60 axles waiting. I plan on cutting the frame even with the tub. Tube the rear.


Now with Chevy 4.3, SM420, D300. Eyeballing the front.


Rear crossmember. Got some ideas for it doing a "search". No shit.


Front outboard spring hangers. .250 wall, 9/16ths bolt, frame sleeved.


8" extension. 3/16ths wall 2x3.


.250 wall fishplate both sides.


Bumper .250 wall, 2x3. Next I'll get the axle under it to cobble some temp shackle hangers and get the weight on the F150 springs. I'm sure it will settle. Shackle mounts come later.

So, if I'm looking at it right, your rear spring hanger for the front springs is flush with the side of the frame? Talk about low COG.......sweet.
