After cutting the floor out a little and raising the t-cases this is what I came up with. Just formed a new taller tunnel with sheetmetal, capped it off with some sheet aluminum and found some Jeep shifter boots to seal it off.

Sorry,no pics of that yet. I just bought a digi cam last night and will get some tomorrow. Never fooled with a digi cam,so kinda wanting to play around with it.

I'm not excatlly sure how much I lifted the cases. I wanted to go flat bottom,my bench seat kept me from going any higher. When I get some Beard super seats someday,I'll go completely flat bottom. Right now I have only about 1 1/2" hanging below the frame,it's not flat but it's a big improvement. Sittin on my puny wore out 33's I've got 26" from the skid plate to the ground. Should be alot better with a new set of swampers,36's maaaaaaaybe 38's,not quite sure yet.

is it just me or am I the only one who finds the irony in the fact that he used Jeep parts? Won't that mean that his toy will breakdown more and not travel as far? :flipoff2:

Did you use a break to form the sheetmetal or just a hammer?

Thanks guy's,I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out.

The paint I used on the floor is a spray paint I picked up at Home Depot. It's a decrorative paint that leaves a rough texture with little white specs. My brother has used it in a few cars of his to line the trunks and engine compartments. It's proved to him to be pretty dang tough. I put it on REAL thick. They had a few different colors to pick from like green, maroon, tan and black. When I first applied it it looked like dark green,I thought,OH CRAP I've messed up somehow. Well after a few minutes it dried black.

I found a few pieces of sheetmetal that had a 3/4" lip already bent on a 90* bend. I just used that and cut them to fit the hole.

The Heep boots are from an older Heep I think, like the old M series or something. Don't really know much about detailed info about Jeeps and don't really care to know either:p. I went to Jims rip me off Off Road in Oak Ridge just to see if he had a boot that might work. He wanted to (and really tried) to sell me 3 boots that were good looking boots but they were $29.95 each:eek:. I seen these little jewels hanging off to the corner of his shelf for $4.99,I said to Jim, "I'll take 3 of those thank you".

Oh ya,I put aluminum between the Jeep boots and the sheetmetal to hopefully slow down the rust:D

Sorry no pics of the underside. What excatly are you wanting pics of and I'll try to get some. I'm having trouble with my digi cam:mad: I can't get the pics to transfer to the computer for some reason.

I didn't use any solvent to get the insulation off. All I did was use a 2" wide chisel(sp) and a hammer. Put the chisel as flat to the floor as you can, trying to get under the insulation stuff, and peck it with the hammer. Most of it would come off in pretty good size pieces. That stuff is a pain to get off. I've heard of guy's using a heat gun with good results, but I ain't got one. This was the best/easiest/fastest way I could do it with what I had

Yeah,no cup holder,o'well. I figured my drink would just turn over anyway as soon as I got off camber. I'm hopein next summer I can tear my dash out and build an aluminum dash. I'll then incorporate some of those drink holders that you see on boats. That way the drinks won't turn over as easy. This is kinda what I've got planned for my dash. I think it's purdy

here maybe..
Yep,thats them. Sorry about saying they were for an older 'M' series Jeep. I don't really know much about Jeep stuff There was several things hanging on the wall, kinda clutered display, and I might have looked at a different tag for something else. They were $4.99 at Jims Off Road, but $6.95 still ain't a bad price for a new shift boot. The thing I liked about them was they are small and compact so a little easier to place where you want them.
