I have a 10 bolt chevy front axle in my truck, I had sears allign it (toe) with the stock tires I had because the arms would go over the 40's, I have hy steer on it with no stabilizer and Im running 40" michey Thompsons. When I get going down the road and Im in 4th gear and I hit a bump or anyhting it jsut starts shakeing bad and the steering whell start to go back and fourth like its out of alignment. Whjat the fuck is going on??

i would check all the heims, or tie-rod ends first. then get a good look at all your mounting points and hardware.
i used to have the same problem and it was a bad balljoint on the knuckle. pretty common from what i hear.
a pair of stabilizers would probably be a fine idea also, especially with those meats!

I think a steering stablizer would be a good idea along with the ball joints being checked... I even had a funny shake from a u-joint getting ready to let go... another time it was my drive shaft needed to be flipped 180 degrees... anything is possible... good luck! <IMG SRC="smilies/smile.gif" border="0">

Check you u-bolts real good along with the bushing in the springs..Loose u-bolts can really wreak havoc...Other than that look at what everyone else said too..

It's definetly the steering stabilzer shocks, mine does that when they aren't on so they have to be on when I drive it on the street or I get the death wobble from hell.

Replace the tie rod ends.

I had a death wobble that would start at 30 mph. It sucked. New tie rod ends and it was gone.

It could be a bunch of things. Is the steering loose at all anyway? If so, I'd check the basic front end parts. Make sure your ball joints are good, tierod ends, tight wheel bearings, etc...
With 40's, you need to be running dual steering stabilizers in my opinion.
