Ok, I was on my way to school this afternoon, when all of the sudden my turn signal decided to stop working. Soon after that my battery light lit up on the dash. Everything else seemed to work fine, the stereo still worked, the fans for the heater, the headlights, tailights, and brake lights all work, but the turn signals and any light other than the battery light on the dash board do not work. I checked the fuses in the kick panel and the fuses under the hood, and those were all ok...
Another thing is that the little 'tick-tock' of the turn signal no longer makes that noise, and the engine seems to be running funny. When I started it back up after class, it was revving high for a couple seconds, then got normal, and when I was driving it home, the engine speed didn't lower very much when I changed gears, even though I had my foot off the accelerator...I have the 22R not the 22RE so I don't know how this could happen. Another thing, the stereo wouldn't come back on when I restarted the truck, but the backup lights, which are on the same circuit as the stereo work just fine.
I'm basically just throwing this out there, hoping someone has had similar problems and can direct me...Does it sound like an alternator problem? If so, why would all the dash lights except for the battery light go out? The headlights are just as bright as they've always been, and the truck starts up fine. It's just that turn signal that doesn't work that's bothering me. So if anybody has any suggestions, I really appreciate it. Thanks!

ok, I just went out and checked the fuses again, and the 'engine' fuse in the kickpanel was bad. I didn't have any more 15 amp fuses, so I put a 30 amp fuse up in there. Now the dash lights come on and the turn signal flasher makes it's noise, but still no turn signals. The front turn signal is really really dim, and the back was hardly visible at all. Are there any other fuse locations that I might be missing?
Dang it, this thing is starting to bug me.

Check all of the turn signal light blubs. I had one that the filimant broke where it was attached and grounded out and caused the same type of problem!!!! All of the signals flashed real dim!!!

it kinda sounds like a bad relay switch for the turn signals. or a bad ground on the actual light.
