john, it's thjat little black box that all the vacuum hoses run into, should be above the driver's wheelwell?

I had to buy one for my 75 and got it at SOR. Don't mix the years as it keeps life easy. The electrical conector is different year to year and the hose diagram is easier to follow when you have the right year.

I got one. came from a 4/75 cruiser.
SOR indicates there was a cali model and a 49 state model, both from 1/75 to 5/75. check this.
they also want 75 bucks for a used one. I'll sell you the one i have, but are you sure it is your problem?

The computer, or black box, under the dash is notorious for having bad conections within it. mine had rust flakes in it (fordyce gets deep). I'd check this first, and probably reheat all the solder conections before suspecting the vsv.
