Im talking about the small snapring that goes on the axle shaft not the large ring that holds the internal hub piece to the hub assy. Fords usually have the small snapring behind the factory hub assy. If you leave it there it will not let the warn hub bottom out far enough in to allow you to install the outer large ring.
Are you sure that the axle shaft is far enough into the spindle?
