I got the EFI motor in my 79 toy. looks good! I'm not sure what I going to do about the fuel pump. I have a external fuel pump from a toy. celica. don't know how to go about running a tube down in to the fuel tank for the pump. Does any one have any thoughts on a good fuel pump setup for a 79' EFI swap.

What is wrong with the tube that is already there? You are also going to need a return line.

I'm using the original fuel outlet for the return line. and then you have the vent line which I going to leave alone because you need to vent the fumes from the tank. So what i'm trying to do is figure out the best way to make a new fuel outlet to supply the EFI. ???

the tank in my '81 has 3 hose connections. A pickup, a return and a vent. When I went to 3/8 line for the V8, I just bought some copper fittings and tubing and set it up close to how is was before.

If you used the factory pickup for the new return line, did you cut it short? Why did you do this?

On my '81 gas tank... I put a new hose on the supply fitting on the tank and ran it down to the frame under the passenger seat, where I put my fuel pump. From there I made a new high pressure line all the way to the pressure regulator.

I have had the thought since then that the new pump is still sucking through the old pump thats still in the tank. Hopefully this won't bite me in the ass (murphy are you out there?)...

i was able to use the pump from the truck i parted, it bolted right up to my old tank position, used the presure line and return line.
i had to modify, the pump stand but otherwise it works fine and hooks right up to the harness
