i want to replace the hubs on the front axles. I have external hubs
These will be available shortly in a 35 spline configuration.

The caps are anodized black and the skull and cross bones will be lazer etched onto the surface. The gears are made of 4140 and will be heat treated.:p

EDIT: Also, there will be a couple of holes machined into gear to lighten it up significantly.

Be prepared to pay $$$ for even used stock external type drive flanges - I was surprised what they were going for.

Check eBay - they can be found there from time to time. I am not happy with the dust cap on mine, so I plan to look into a custom dust cap of a more sturdy material to take some abuse and bolt on.

Pig nice flanges, don't do the external guys much good though. I've seen several external 35 spline flanges made using 35 spline D60 outer spider gears - make a ring with 8x4 bolt pattern 7/16" holes (I think) and welder some spider gears to it. Probably be a good idea to do some type of heat treatment afterwards.

Are those flanges going to be price comparible to warn flanges, I was getting ready to buy a set.

I don't know if anyone cares, but this is what *I* would like to see:

I want an external drive flange in a 2 piece configuration - a flange and a splined inner cam gear. I also want the flange body to come out further for better trail protection instead of the sotck dust cap setup. I would also like the inner cam gear to be easily removed - possibly by just a couple of allen head bolts maybe. My reason for this is I can run an ARB and drive flanges, but be able to quickly drop the cam gear out of both sides say if I needed to do an extended road driving trip and did not want to be turning the whole front end while I drive.

If someone can do this for around the same price as a set of flange style lockouts and have them be as strong or stronger - I would buy some :)

DRM, Good idea. Maybe the inner "cam" could be a warn part from their manual locking hubs.

Another thought I had a while back was to make a bolt on flange that would take the D60 internal spline lockout hubs. Some machining on the wheel hub might be required for this.

Try wagoneer machine in OK. Seems like a read they made a external flange.

I have some external 35 spline drive flanges. These are the discontinued spicer part for Dana 70's. $150 plus shipping, includes bolts, tapered washers, and dust caps. Let me know, thanks.

These guys have them:

Summers Brothers
530 S. Mountain Ave.

Ontario, CA 91762

909 - 986 - 2041

Fax 909 - 984 - 7908

These are high quality 35 spline flanges. I can't remember what I paid

Also, try Gerald @ Sunray Engineering: 817 - 594 - 9201. They may have some leftover 30 spline flanges. You could get those & have Moser Engineering rebroach them: 219 - 726 - 6689 :D
