I'd like to go with BFG 33X9.50 ATs on my stock (suspension at least) '71 FJ40. I was thinking of a Man-A-Fre front shackle reversal and a pair of extended rear shackles. I think this would gain me enough clearance. Is this correct? Any other suggestions?

Any help would be appreciated.

man-a-free kit no good do youre own reverse shack its easy and works alot better the steering is easaly screwed up with kit the reversal steers perfict while youre there do a spring over sounds like alot of work not its easy then put 35s rock on dude have fun i did and love it. Its cheap to and i dont even know what im doing but it looks like apro did is what ive been told.

I know of 2 guys running 33x9.5 BFG's with stock rims on stock springs with no lift. They rub in front on hard compression at full lock, but that's it.

For the amount of money and work that the shackle reversal kit is (especially if you are not installing it yourself) you can almost buy a good spring kit.

But as for your question, yes they will fit with that setup. If your rears are cut, then I have seen them run with a stock lift as woody said.

or you could spend an easy 200 dollars and get my 2" lift springs and bushings that only have 1300 miles on them!
can you tell i need to sell these to afford my tires? <IMG SRC="smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0">

Stock FJ40, uncut fenders, 33x9.5 BFG-MT's, rear locker, 8274 in front. VERY clean truck...the owner spent WAY too much money getting it redone (and now his son drive it to high school during Wisconsin winters....DOH!)

You can easily get away with fitting those tires on a stock cruiser,try it out if you dont like it then just go with the extended shackles on all ends.

I would just throw some extended shackles all the way around and then trim the rear if needed. It would be the easiest and cheapest lift. You could even make them yourself. Dont forget caster shims if you put shackles in the front, though. <IMG SRC="smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0">
