I've got a 90" long section of seamless pipe that I need to have turned to get the ID concentric all the way through to remove the standard ovality. It's 316 ss, 16" od, .375" wall thickness, 90" long. Can anyone here do that?
Thats gonna need one big lathe. Machine shops in houston are so busy these days, I doubt you are going to find somebody who wants to do that. If they did, it'll be for lots of $$$ and a 10 week lead time!
Yeah, I've got some places that can do it, they are specialty shops for hyd. cylinders and such...heck the material alone for this piece 2 years ago was $9000.00....I'm getting quotes of ~$14,000 for the matl. alone!!! Doesn't really matter....just need to get it done.
