I need a VSS setup like what is offered from NWOR...but I refuse to buy ANYTHING from those @(&$&@^^%people! I need to hook it to my speedo output so I can finish making my new 4.3 work properly...I asked over at ORC, but got no response...anyone here able to help me? Any ideas? I did a search on the Chevy Talk section to no avail....

the problem with GM VSS is they use 2 types...... one is a hall effect sensor ( like a distributor with a low level voltage pulse) this one needs a VSS buffer to feed the GM computer

the other style is a magnetic reed switch with a flying magnet on the speedo shaft ( in the dash...)

you can make a flying magnet VSS sender using a bike computer magnet and pickup ( one
of those little guys that clips to the front forks with the magnet in the spokes.....)

the easiest way to tell which kind you need is to get the speedo out of the vehicle that the engine came from.......

Thanks guys...the engine came from a '95 S10 Blazer...the dash was destroyed, so I doubt I can go that way....I saw there was a 2 or 4 signal, but don't know which one to use...I think Jags can help me....
I appreciate the non-flaming replies....

I think the later ones used the trans-mounted type, not sure, a 95 engine might be OBD2 as well, I think this makes a difference, I bought the "Chevy EFI" book from them, it covered a lot of this stuff but it's at home. The book was pretty interesting but not as specific as I'd hoped, basically it had some general tips about swapping the chevy EFI engines and told you to buy a Helm manual for the year and model vehicle your donor engine came from.

My 4.3 is still in the Astro van. Hopefully I'll know more about this after this winter.
