That is one big ass picture alright. Any plans to do anything else to it now or simply getting it running decent?

back from our trip, she did great.

frustrating few weeks leading up to the trip uncovered some major issues.

figured out why it runs so rough.

0 psi compression in #2 cylinder
20 psi in #1.
I didnt check the others out of fear of what i might discover. looks like I need to rebuild it. I must say though, that it is the best damn running 6cyl ever!

new rear brakes instealled, rigged heater hose fixed (i dont know why, once it started snowing on us and i tried to turn it on, the fan dont blow)

new pvc windshield installed. so i can remove it and enjoy the breeze

had a great 5 days on the trail.

yearly bump.

Getting ready for our July trip decided i had better figure out the no compression issue.

compression numbers: #1 &2: 0psi, #3-8: 60psi.

so shes a bit tired. 60psi isnt anything to write home about. but lets face it. i use this rig a max of 10 days a year, max of 100 miles a day. and its been running with the motor in that condition for 10 years. i dont need to freshen it up, i just need my other 2 cylinders back.

so I tore into the passenger side to see what was wrong.

VIOLA. fried head gasket. I love cheap easy fixes. :smokin:

Along the lines of cheap and easy fixes just to get by.... do you have a set of spider gears and a cross pin for a Ford 8.8 in your pile o parts? I'm trying to get a buddy's bronco going long enough to get him by until he can afford gears and a locker.

Back to your regularly scheduled glacial pace...

Nice thread and Bronco revival! Its good to hear you found a simple issue with the engine. My Bronco has been parked since 2006 and I plan on dragging it in the garage this summer to fire it back up. This thread gives me some motivation, thanks. :)

motors all back together and running smoother than ever.

ready for our august trip. could really use to find some new tires though.

hard to spend $$ on rubber that only gets used a few days a year and rots the rest of the time. :(

This.

I don't think I've ever seen this thread before. I just browsed the whole thing, and now I get where the jokes come from.

You need more dedication, time, and/or money or something.
