Okay I wanna order some new seats for my 40. I was looking @ some Bestop buckets for the front and a fold and tumble for the rear. Any suggestions? Any problems using these?

Hey,

I have only seen the seats you are talking about, so I can't comment on how comfortable they are but, I can comment On the seats I went with. After looking at every junk yard around here I couldn't find anything that I liked so I went with some Tenzo Rally racing seats. They are EXTREAMLY comfortable and don't hinder any vision. They also fully recline unlike most racing seats and at $219 each they compare to other NEW seats and much cheaper than other racing seats. Here is a picture of what they look like:

If you are interested in these, here is a link to where I bought them: http://www.manhonda.com/store/honda/index.cfm?Level=26&itemno=331&CFID=322892&CFTOKEN=85013093
They are 50-300 bucks cheaper than anywhere else in the country for these seats.

Put it this way, I had to order a second set for my wife's 2001 spyder because she said they were so comfortable and MADE me install them in her car the day after they arrived.

Hey,

Just so you know and don't get pissed at me later I had my seats covered in Medical grade Vinyl since I won't be running a top. This was a little pricey, but I won't have to worry about my seats being soaked and it still came out far cheaper that the Corbeau racing seats and they look identicle side by side. The one's you buy are cloth with vinyl patches on the wear spots.

did you have them recovered locally or by the place you got them? they do look nice though, i don't think they will hold up to the AZ sun though.

I got them covered here in Orlando by a friend who has a big name in the classic car world. The Vinyl I used was a new Commercial Medical Grade which is a step above marine grade. It comes with a 10 year guarantee from the manufacturer to withstand all UV as well it should because it is more exspensive than leather wholesale. Nautique Ski boats have just switched to this vinyl because of its ability to withstand UV. The only thing I'm worried about is how hot the Vinyl will be not how long it will stand up. I'm pretty sure if it hold up here in Fl it will hold up out in AZ. You might have 110? but we have 100? with 100% humidity.

Reuben and I both run Corbeau Baja SS seats in our Cruisers...$300 for the pair. Very comfy, full suspension, cloth centers....We got a slightly better deal for ordering 4 at a time from a shop in Illinois.

Having lived in both Florida and Arizona, I would still question whether dark vynil like that would stand up to the Arizona heat. Not even the worst day in Florida came even close to what I experienced in Phoenix during a few weeks of August...
That said, I like those seats, but they seem a little small for those of "less-than-petite" frames like me!

Hey Henry,

Are you saying I'm small

Damn, at 6' and a solid 235 the seats fit really well. I really need to stop going to the gym every day. I know your a big boy too, but they'll fit ya. You'll see when I make it up that way one of these days

I just ordered a set of Beard high backs (Extra 2" wide ) after riding in Grapenuts and checking his out. The ones I got do have the fabric but the cover can be removed to dry.
