I'm a total newbie at mods on GM trucks, although I'm on my 4th, I don't know the simplest stuff. I currently have a '93 GMC K1500 Ext cab, full bed, long f'n truck. Two questions:

-Is there any way to improve the turning radius? This thing turns like a battleship and I would like it to turn a little more like my Jeep.

-It has 16" wheels, can I put on 15" in any way without totally redoing the brakes? Is there a certain back spacing I can use so it won't interfere with the brakes?

I'd like to go with a set of 15" wheels and 32" AT tires because this is a daily driver that sees light off road use for hunting, fishing and wood hauling.

as far as i know, there isnt anyhting you can do to inprove turning on an ifs truck.

And as for the 15" wheels. you shouldnt have any problems running any 6 lug 15 in wheel on your truck, as long as its all 1/2 ton.
you shouldnt have to touch your brakes

The only thing that would improve your turning radius would be to run a "narrow" rim....ie: 8 in. putting 15 in. wheels on it you should have no problem with it hitting brakes......good luck <IMG SRC="smilies/beer.gif" border="0">

OK, totally ignorant newbie questions. How do I know if it's not 1/2 ton? What can I check? It says 1500 on the side, BUT there's more leafs then my father's 2500 heavy 3/4 ton and it sits higher f&r then most other stock 2500's w/ 4wd. It sits like a Z71 and it's a ext cab w/ full 8' bed.

Yes the 1/2 ton will be 1500 with 6 lugs! Your dads 2500 is a 3/4 ton (8 lug) and it might even have a "overload package" on it. Hope this helps......
