The other day my truck started missing. I checked it out and #1 had no compression. How do I tell if is a valve, rings, or head gasket? The other cylinders all have compression and it is not blowing smoke. Any help would be great. Thanks!
P.S. it's an 85 toy with a 22r

Well, th compression has to go somewhere. if nothing is getting into the cylinder(oil/coolant), it isn't the head gasket. And if it doesn't smoke, I doubt there is a problem with the rings. so now where are you?

Don't feel so bad. My rig is running on 2 cylinders. The #2 and 3 have 10 and 30 psi. Believe it or not it still turns the 38's. Even 2/3 of the way up the dunes at the Hammers.
Not to bad for a 22RE with over 325,000 miles.
