well, just my luck. Help a friend out and somehow the entire truck wont work now. After correctly connecting my friends ricebox to my truck to jumpstart it, he cranks his car right up. We remove the cables and I attempt to start mine to drive away. No electricity. Not even brake lights. Is their a universal fuse that could have gotten blown? The battery is still good as we used it to start his car again. What is wrong? I need an answer quickly as possible cause Ive got to get home frome school.

This is on a 90 Toyota Pickup 4x4 with the 22RE.

Did you, um...un-connect the battery? Did you reconnect it WELL?
Check the fusible links in the fuse box, both have clear windows so you can just look right in. Put a 12V test light everywhere in the engine bay near the battert, see if power is getting out of the main battery cable at least (like, try checking the connection to the starter, it's always hot...)

You should actually remove the fusible links and check them for continuity. Sometimes they look fine but the DMM says different.

Check all your fuses, of course.

Yep, it turned out to be a piece of shit wire that the previous owner  had put on the positive terminal of the battery. The small wire could not handle the other car starting off of it and burned up. The outside of the wire looked completely normal, but it was just a little too soft. The inner core was missing for a few millimieters, so no power to anything.

I will be redoing my battery connections soon to prevent this problem in future.

Thanks for all the replies though.
