This is been going on for a while,at first it happened in the morning when cold shifting between 1-2 was kind of hard but in the last few days its gotten worse and it is hard to shift through all the gears,I got me some Redline MT90 and will replace the fluid this weekend but has anybody have any other suggestions?I don't think all the syncros will go out at the same time.

I had good luck running ATF in my 88 V-6, 5-speed tranny, Mine also has the notchy 1st to 2nd gear deal, especially when it is cold out, a friend told me to try running ATF,, and it helped a ton!!,, ATF is also a high detergent oil,, soo if you were to run it a few days,, then drain it and then run your Redline,it should clean everything out inside, it may help,,, I have been running the ATF for over 2 years now,, and the tranny has over 185k miles on it,, still ticking!!,,** I also ran ATF in my 1972 Chevy K-5 Blazer with a SM 465 4-speed,, it also shifted alot better,, just leaked alot more(I guess due to the thinner oil),

While working for a mining company in central Nevada we had similar symptoms with out ford 4x4 pickups after driving in extremely dusty situations. This was dust a foot deep that would clog your air filter in 1/4 mile unless you drove in 1st gear low case. In fact you had to use four wheel drive to get through it. The dust would enter the bell housing through water drain holes and somehow prevent the clutch from fully disengaging.

Even if you havent been in dust or mud, you may have a problem with your clutch disengaging.

I wondered the same thing.

Occasionally I cannot select a gear unless I release and depress the clutch pedal for a second time. Have often wondered what could cause that.

Any ideas?

"Got Torque Wrench"
When I first looked at your post I thought it sad "Nacho, hard to shift Tranny" said to my self, it figures Leonel tried something different.

Now.......wait a minute. A bolt in the tranny mount, where?
I have the same trouble...from 1st to 2nd.
Where/how does a trans mount bolt affect shift smoothness?

With the added weight of a second case a missing bolt makes a diference but it will affect shifting through out all the gears. In your case it is something else and using syntetic fluids maight help or replacing the bushings in the shifter
