Hey everyone,
I have a '93 4Runner and don't have the off-road package, which means no 4.88 gears for me. I am about to get new tires and am wondering exactly how bad my performance will drop if I go to 31x10.50 or just a little bigger like 30x9.50? Mileage, Acceleration, etc....

Thanks for you input,
Peter

Go BIG ! ! ! Don't worry too much about mileage. If acceleration becomes a problem, get lower gears.

I personally have 35x12.5 w/ 5.29s and a 22r carbed engine w/ only 100hp 227,000 miles ago.

If you have a manual trans you will be alright. With an auto you will not be happy. If you plan on wheeling the thing, you can get 33's on there pretty cheap. I say get gears and 33's. Save your money on the 31's. But thats just my 2 cents.

Just buy the same size of tire you have now.
Save up for sas, gears and 35's... <IMG SRC="smilies/usa.gif" border="0">
