Are there geras for a NP p208

I need a 2:1 low ratio for tcase

or 1:5 ratio would be even better

are there any swaps ...for the gears in this case

Are there any other tcases with a 1:5 ratio out there ?

I know AA has developed a 2:1 left hand side drop for the atlas
this is my best option ...but are there any 1:5 ??

The NP208 low range is 2.61:1 not 2.7.. The NP241 is 2.72:1...

If you want something with a higher low range, then swap the case out for an NP 205 or an NP 203. They are both 1.96:1..

Why do you want a higher low range?

I am pretty sure (99.999999%) the NP208 that I had in my old (highschool days) '82 GMC pickup had 2.72 gears in it. The little tag on the t-case will indicate this.

According to the tech specs on CK5, all 208's were 2.61:1 ad the 241's were 2.72:1... *shrug* And they didn't start putting the 241's in until around 88/89...

I am wondering if this guy had a typographical error and wants 4:1 and not 2:1... If thats the case, pull the 208 and use an NP 203 range box mated to an NP205 with an ORD(or similar) doubler adapter.

why not just change the axle ratios to get what you want for the final drive?

ok here goes the full specs

94 Nissan Patrol 4 door
whipple 502
Th400
Np 208
std axels ( axels 4:11 )

there are only 4:66 and 4:88 gears for the axels ......

how about this set up

Th 400
Ranger splitter ( 27% overdrive)
Atlas 2:1

would give the 1:5 I need .........wolud the range splitter hold ?

What size tires? A true 35" tire, with 4.10s and a 1.96 low, will put you at 4631 rpm at 60 (plus converter slippage).

FYI if you run 208 in low and rap out the motor in OD the planetaries get really loud. :D

And ditto on what Old Scout said.

And Cory, I'm even more sure you're wrong, than you're sure you're right. 208s were 2.61. :flipoff2:

Tires are 31 x 12.5 fun country front and paddel rear same size

any bigger would snap the axels ....( nissan rear 1.3 inches thick 33 spl , very similar to d60 )

how about a overdrive between the th400 and the trans ?
