I am finishing off a refurbish on my NP203 gear reduction box and I'm scratching my head on the input gear retainer seal.

The service manual I have shows one seal. I finally pulled mine apart and found two seals.

FWIW, the NP203 was attached to a TH400 tranny. I may have 2 other retainers I could pull apart.

What is the correct way? One seal? Two seals? Did my retainer get fawked up and someone play with it?

You'll find them both ways, either one double lip seal or two opposing single lip seals. Either way works fine.

Thanks Stephen.

I pulled my spare out and it was also the two singles.

But when I got the seal I ordered, it was the double lip seal.

Definately glad I got confirmation on this... I would hate to have blown up at the parts man for what would have looked like the wrong seal :p
