I'm open for opinions. Here are my thoughts

I took some measurements of the Snort setup on lance's Stealthy I like it...but I am shooting for 4 wheel coil overs instead. (mabey a bad idea?) I want to zap my frame out of the back and tube it so I can have the coil overs in the same position front and rear so my suspension is perfectly balanced (maybe a bad idea??) the rear axle goes back 4" putting me @ 102" wb. At this point I don't want any geometry info...I just want a material list. Not sure about heims or bushings or threaded stock in the links for twist. I just want ideas from people who have seen what lasts, what werx, and what breaks. Links materials? proceed thanx

Who cares about bent leavs, i would be concerned about broken ones.

Anyway coil overs are wayyy cool. Did you get a chance to look at welderboy's rig? The three link on the back was one of the beefiest i have seen yet! Find out what he used and build it like that. I know when the day comes that i do a link suspension, i would like it to be that strong. Being stuck in the middle of nowhere and nothing holding your axle on does not sound like fun to me. so make i tuff.
just my opinion.

He is using MASSIVE TRE's from a cement truck on the upper wish bone, and something like 1.5" Tractor heims on the lower links.

Welderboy's setup has some serious beef. I got a good look at it when he was stuck down in the box for a while. How wide are his axles anyway?

hey drunken neck i can see how ramming into stuff while intoxicated and bending a $500 coil would be less upsetting than bending a $150 leaf spring. maybe you need a breathalizer key switch on that heep.

Why not try and use a design that seems to work well already, for example like the RE long-kit and adapt it to your rig? Seems like you could do something like that with out too much trouble....just a thought...... I don't think I have seen one with full-width axles. And yeah I realize you have a YJ.

yea! welder boy has the goods! I might just swing by my local caterpillar depot Or was it john deer? Whatever..there's big stuff and big hiems on the stuff so I bet they have big hiems for sale

What's a good tube thickness or should I be thinking solid? 1" or 1.25" or 1.5"

Now I mean stuff that's not gonna bend under seroius jumpage and smashage and or throttlage!

I was going to use a a traction system front and rear but I am thinking I might just go all out and ditch the springs so my jeep looks cool when I roll

In the box neither would I
, Just kidding. The tractor heims and TRE's sound beef but wasn't someone saying they wear out or something. My set up will be on the rear of my DD/ rig ,so I don't need a joint that is used to going 1-15mph going out on me when I'm on the freeway at 70mph.

For beefy yet cheap heim joints go to your local farm supply store or if lacking that go to a farm tractor dealership. Ask them for category II toplinks. These are about 34" when screwed out but can be easily lengthened. They have 1" bore with 1 1/8" threads. They are completely forged IIRc they are rated at like 44,000 lbs (of what I'm not sure ) Anyway I have put about 5000 miles on mine. They don't make much noise and they don't seem to be worn at all. Best of all mine cost me $29.00 each. Thats for a threaded body and a rh and lh end. Good stuff, Later

Silly, did you see my setup yet? I am running the tractor heims too, with 2" .1875 wall DOM for the links. Talk about BURLY shiat. They work super pimp. I am able t lay the weight of the truck on them and laugh all day long.
