I was going through some of my magazines (I've got stacks) and ran across an old issue (Off-Road January 1977) and what struck me were some of the ads. Here is a couple of them, that I thought were interesting. Sorry for the size of these, but otherwise you really can't read/see them.

Here is an ad for Downey Toyota before the dealership and the 4x4 store seperated.

Here is one for 4WPW. What the hell is wrong with them, only a 1/4 of a page? I expect their ads to be at least 5 or 6 pages.

A Warn ad - its not that different from an ad you might see today.

Datsun 4x4 kits? Remember those?

New Scouts? To bad your can't buy one today.

4x4 Vans? Man the '70's were cool? I bet you could even get shag carpet with the conversion.

I remember those old 4WPW ads. Isn't it a kick going through the old mags? <IMG SRC="smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0">

You could get one, Midas made a 6 seater IH Traveler with 2 front, 2 middle captains chairs, a rear bench, and with shag carpet. Looked like a Scout with a van conversion.
