It's been like 3 months since my cruiser has moved under it's own power. Today I started it up. What started out as adding a Holley Pro-jection to my 302 FJ40 ended up being, new edelbrock manifold, new aluminum valve covers, new gaskets, new radiator, gas tank R&R, new hard and soft gas lines, new wiring harness, new hoses (all kinds), new DUI performance distributor, new plugs, new plug wires, new thermostat, new thermostat housing, new battery, new battery tray, and new battery terminal wires. A coat of black paint under the hood as well. It wouldn't have taken so long if there weren't so many other things on the 'honey do' list but who cares it's running now. Needs timed, injection tuned, and to fix the leak on one of my heater hoses. Just timing it by ear and leaving the injection settings flat it already kicks ass. Throttle response is very nice and the idle is smooth. I plan on putting in the closed loop (oxygen sensor) as well. No more tweaking the carb when I hit the hills, no more flooding out on steep inclines.
