I bought a Brand New Dana 44 OX for the front of my junk that was a floor model at a local parts shop. Unfortunately it is the earlier non spring loaded style Cable, most likely Gen 2.

Anyway, reality tells me that the Locker works off of a simple pushing in of the cable and a pull to unlock it, so logic tells me that someone on here must have gave up on the Stock Shifter setup and built their own.

If so, gimme some ideas.

ox locker woes

in my directions from my ox locker purchased in 2001 it states you can use the spring @ your discretion.... they say that the spring allows you to engage the locker without it needing it and as soon as the wheels slip rate differentiates, that the spring will then engage the locker.... never tried it the other way.... but anyways it is none the less fun to re-adjust it every time you change the ring and pinion seal! but id take the OX over ARB any day! (personal opinion)
