Look at a Dodge (not sure what year), I don't know how long the set up is but that's your best bet.zfaux said:Hey guys,
Is there a passenger drop t-case that will bolt to a NP435 without a custom adaptor? If you're curious, this is for a budget NP435 swap into a Jeep.

You need the Ford adapter for the 205, either a 435, ot T18(to hang on the tranny), then the chevy 205saber6 said:no sh*t? a 205 that was bolted to a 420 or 465 will go to at 435 with no problems? Man I wish I knew that about a year ago. Would have saved me the work of building my own adapter.
See if you wait long enough, someone else will do all that long typeing, I am more of a one word answer lazy guyRogue Bronco said:Chevy NP205's have 2 different female spline counts 27(TH350) & 32(TH400). The SM420's use a male input(10spl.) w coupler, I 'think' the SM465 uses a female input in the later trannies/T-case combos.
Ford NP435's have 2 different male spline counts 28(2x4) & 31(4x4).
This is why U need the Ford input(to match the Ford output).
The Chevy NP205 will NOT bolt directly to the Ford NP435. Chev & Dodge use an hour glass type bolt pattern, Ford uses a circular bolt pattern. (It can be done tho)
This would re-use the stock Ford NP435 to NP(whatever) adapter which is 8 5/8" long (I think there is only 1 size).
The Ford(4x4) & Dodge NP435's have the same case.
Use your Ford NP435 & put a Dodge output shaft into it, and bolt a Dodge adapter to it. It's shorter & 23spl. Using the Dodge junk re-uses all stock(accessable) pieces and is 2 5/8" shorter.
Or use a full Dodge NP435 and bolt your bellhousing to it instead of changing your output shaft. Same shit, less work.
The bellhousing bolt patterns look the same (I'll know for sure tonight, cause I'm pullin one off).
?!?!WHATS ALL THIS CHEVY TECH DOIN' IN THE FORD FORUM!?!?
