hypocrite. :D
This weekend we cut the IFS off of the Hotrod 4Runner. All those people who I've told off when they tried to get me to go SAS, well, here's your chance to raz me (except you Camo, you just keep your trap shut :p ).

Now I too can join the "I'll make fun of IFS at any chance" club :flipoff2:

Is that all the fawkin info you've got? I thought you were mr. facts? Get to it.
By "this weekend we cut off the IFS" I mean the coming two days, not last weekend. So, no facts, because nothing's done yet. I must consume mass quantities of beer, then take a cutting torch to metal. We'll see what comes out of this on Sunday night :D

watch yer toes :p

seems the SAS bug is going around like the flu. i cut my IFS off last weekend and it seems like there are quite a few "started my SAS" threads starting in the toy section. seems more than usual anyway.

have fun - it feels good to be rid of it :D

Like I keep saying, I'll build a buggy rather than SAS my 4Runner. Considering that SAS is the first step in the conversion process... I've seen too many SAS'ed toys that are slowly becomming full on buggys.....

After seeing Marlin's new gearbox, I'm seriously thinking about building a light buggy around one, then use my 4runner to tow it....hehe

Theres some vid from a few weeks ago, if it ever gets hosted. I'm getting it there...a pretty damned good waterfall, some nice cracks, and a busted axle from dragging someone out of a hole :D

I love the IFS, but a series of events had dropped most of the parts for the swap in my lap, for almost nothing, so I must follow the winds of fate and do as they say :D

Don't do it man.... don't give in. Sell those parts and invest in a pre 85 that was meant to have a live axle. I kept mine IFS and when I needed more just snatched up a cheap 80 toy. And I like my IFS! Thats right people, I like it!

Hmm.... after being in TinBender camp and seeing all those Toys, well used to be toys that look more and more like buggys.... :D

And then there are these 3 trucks that keep getting more and more sheet metal removed, then replaced with tubing..... :D

Oh, and all those dang trailers to haul them out to play/break..... :D

On the other hand..... I have no Idea where those thoughts came from

Well, we managed to get the front spring hangers and crossmember mostly built. Due to Mikes piss poor reflexes and driving skills that resulted a little 'fender bender', we had to replace the WHOLE front crossmember rather than just making the drop brackets. The good news is, the next time he smashes in to a full size chevy truck, at least this part should stay in tact. :flipoff2:

We still have some welding to do, a LOT of bracing, steering and brakes left, but it's coming along. :D
