Long story short my buddy finally talked me into buying a bike.

A couple of hours later and 2000 dollars I wound up with this.

Its a 2008 250 KTM SXF. Figured it would be kind of weak being a 250. I was wrong.

I already ordered my chain and sprockets.

Whats left to do:
Drop suspension
Install sprockets
Source 17" wheels and tires
Bigger brakes
Larger gas tank
New plastics
Get mirrors
Core exhaust
Oil change
Install trail tech vapor

Possible:
Coolant flush
Carb rebuild

Is this just gunna be a street tard? If it is I'd leave it stock height just tune the suspension for your weight. There are a lot of times where the height of my xr650r let me go down stair cases all my buddies on lower bikes couldn't. Either way you'll have way to much fun and get way to many tickets :D

Yessir she'll be gettin a plate tomorrow.

I want to drop it maybe 2 inches or so. My little baby feet have a hard time touching the ground sometimes. I won't change any of the suspension till I get the 17s on it.

I'm really excited about this. My first bike ever.

Hopefully I'll get it up to snuff to my buddy's.

Cleaned up the shock and added a can. :rolleyes2:

Rear swing arm reassembled. Kept the mildly ratty chain guard. I like it, throws back to the fact its a converted pure bred bike.

Spent some real money. Eeeeek...

So bikes going back together on dirt rims in the mean time so I can ride around and build some skill sets, or at least have a rolling chassis.

And where on that screen does it say $1400??
Yes THAT is a lot. Especially on a bike you got that cheap but it will be good afterwards

Sorry if I come across as negitive .... :flipoff2: ..... but

an SX on the street will top out at 70 while screaming its guts out at redline.

Your going to want the 6spd conversion real quick (and theres another $1200)

My friend had a 2008 250XCF..... cruising at 50 was painful to watch you could actually see his fuel level dropping through the clear tank.

At least all the stuff your doing can be converted to another KTM

Good on you.
I love my WR 250.
Its a Japanese market bike and the X (street) version.
It will top out around 100, and is smooth as glass..

Its an SXF not an SX. So a 5 speed not a 4 lol

Also ordered a piston, clutch, gaskets, chain guides, and some other shit.

Oooo

Supermoto so much fun Pete :D Really nice seeing some other 'tard lovers in here.

Here's mine. SX with 6 speed wide ratio conversion, 300 full SX kit, 6 pot front brake and amd other crap. Clake too.

Crazy fun around the suburbs and tight twisties.

Some people just don't understand do they?

I have a Kato 530 also. That is fun too when in SM guise.

Go team KTM :smokin:

Gotta love how so many of the parts are interchangeable between so many models.
