Hey im getting a chevy 350 tbi out of a K5 blazer, it has the 700r4 trans in it, not sure what type of t-case, possibly the np205. anywho, i plan on dropping it in my 1990 YJ and i was wondering about any possible over-heating issues w/ the drivetrain. will the common heat shields help or would i be better putting in some tranny fans and the works? this will be my first engine swap, any other pointers are more then welcome.

over heating where? How will heat shields help dissipate heat? Heat shields are designed to keep the heat away from an area like your feet in the tub. Install a good radiator with a good fan. I installed a separate cooler fan on my 4l60E to help it out. I run a 3 row CSF radiator with a taurus fan and it stays around 180 and never goes above it.
