Brrrr.

Morning lows in the single digits, highs in the 30's. Too damn cold to ride to work anymore. Time to stack em in for the winter. Husqy needs a bit of maintenance and will still get out now and then for some dirt therapy. Gotta do a fork seal on the BMW sometime before spring.

:(

Stupid winter.

There is a lot of reasons to talk shit about Cali.
Yesterdays ride with my girl wasn't one of them:D

Yep. Season is going well, here. :grinpimp: no more sweating just opening the garage.

Going to get all my bikes up to speed to winter. This includes my newly acquired xl100. I might do a “build” thread on it, just to get some activity here, even though it’s more of a “get it running and ride it” thread. :homer:

I spent way too long looking for the girl in the pic :homer: Nice bike :smokin:

You should. I'm contemplating picking up a dirt bike project or getting running and ride it project...

72 degree late December day so we took an afternoon ride...

She has a little much facial hair for my tastes but if it works for you we won't judge :flipoff2:

Bubbles is pretty rad. She said her Blast is too slow for track days:

And she was right so she rented an R-3 for the next couple times: (Eagle Rider Club FTW!)

didn't love it so she just bought her first brand new anything, a 2020 Ninja 400:

And since it's her "Track only bike":shaking: haha, she picked up a cheap Buell Lightning XB12Scg thats actually really nice, but a mis-adjusted clutch smoked the frictions.
I had a talk with her about how her owning 3 bikes doesn't mean I own three more bikes to maintain.

I gave her the service manual and a torque wrench and she's all in:

Don't doubt she actually did the whole clutch job herself, she just finished painting/upholstering, and restoring that little Blast mostly by herself too.

From this: A 3000 mile but knocked around and beat up Harley MSF training bike:

To this pretty rad little scoot:)

On the track, The N400 is taking over the 300 class around here, as far as popularity. Expect to see the 300’s to be for sale at a rapid pace here soon.

She seems fun :smokin:

Nice!! She rides, races, and wrenches, how can you go wrong? :grinpimp:

So the N400 fits in the 300 class rules? Is it cut/dry a better bike and choice than an R3/CBR300, etc?

No. The weird part is, there’s no real class for it yet. They are running with the sv650 class and basically beating them (depending on rider). They let the rc390 run with the 300s, but not a 400. I see things changing this coming season or the next.

The 300 class is packed, so a lot of real good riders, trying to stay budget minded, are getting ahead of the game and playing with the 400. Kind of a weird middle ground right now.

This is CMRA only. Other race organizations may vary. Actually, I need to check the new rule book to see what might be updated for 2020. Hell, I need to renew my license by Tuesday.

When we met she said she had relationship phobia and an oral fixation, so... I have that going for me:evil:

It will be interesting to see how they handle the in-between displacement bikes cropping up. As I think about getting myself on the track, I could see starting in the 300 class vs. what I'm actually street riding.

Sounds like a win-win :grinpimp:

I've been looking at some Mt-09's/XSR 900's maybe an mt-10, why I'm not sure other than I'm to the point where the SV doesn't scare me anymore so maybe time to move on. Contemplating keeping the SV as either a track bike or commuter vs. selling it to fund the next one...
Carb rebuilt, filters cleaned, fluids topped off, new o-rings in silencer, new rear disk gaurd.

Ready to get some practice in this weekend.

Hell no. Not enough power. This thing has anywhere from 118 - 125. It's got an aftermarket chip and some.other doodads.

After sitting for 3 ish years. Due to the owner dying in a motorcycle accident on his other bike and various electrical gremlins.

Now that its running I'll be doing all the maintenance. Then I'll run it ugly. This winter I'll tear it down and make it look pretty.

That's great. I've heard of too many issues with Aprilia bikes and lack of or over priced parts so I assumed it was dead.

This one has a rotax motor. They didn't go to their own motor until 2005ish. This motor is pretty bulletproof. Wiring however is typical italian garbage, so I had a ton of work to do there.

I knew it was electrical problems and I am the 3rd person to have it. Glad I sorted it out. When all this virus crap is over I'm riding it on a local club ride. The previous owner who is dead was a very active member and this bike was fairly legendary locally. Only 2 people know I have it. So it'll be a cool little memorial.
