02 F-250 SD extra cab short box 4x4. 6.5" pro comp lift (all springs) 37" SSR's. I bought the truck this way and have no experiance with pro comp lifts. It looks like a 4wpw package jobbie.

Problem: Driving home I notice the steering wheel not so centered anymore going straight down the road. maybe 1/4 turn off of TDC to maintain a straight line. Get home get out of the truck and look at the rear tire. Its about 1/2 inch from eating the wheel well. The other tire is just fine. I look at the springs and the add-a-leaf is hanging by 4 or 5 inches and the small leaf from the pack is walking out too. Bump stop lift thingy and 2" lift block are still in original locations. There is a worn spot on the main leaf spring where the U-bolt plate was riding. The plate had moved 3 or 4 inches forward. It appears the centering pin in the spring pack had sheared. Sound right?

Can I use a grade 8 bolt to replace it? Will the head fit in the recess in the perch? Why did the leafs walk out but the small blocks stay put? U-bolts are still tight.

Also I heard that the track bar brackets were tearing themselves off of the axles on lifts this tall. True/false?

usually the hex head bolts are too big.. try a case hardened allen head bolt.. they are the black ones... with a nylon lock nut on it.. the blocks probably have a nipple on them that fits into a hole to keep them in place..

Thanks!

I went to my local Napa. Apperently this is a metric bolt. smaller than 7/16, larger than 3/8's. I bought the 3/8's one's just to get it back on the road. When I tore into it I noticed the U-bolts were barely tight. 2 turns of the wrench and I could remove them with my fingers. Now with the new center pin tight and the U-bolts tight I shouldnt have any trouble but I'll still keep my eye on it.

Hi there, i am also running the Pro Crap 6.5 " lift
i used all new leaf packs with a 2" block in the rear, i have had no troubles with anything so far, except the ride beats the living hell out of me when i drive across my pasture. the leafs packs are pretty damn stiff, i just towed a 25' goose neck with 100 bales of and i figured out weight was somewhere around 15000lbs including the trailer and it only saged my truck 4". for towing it is a good lift but going offroad will change your mind.

ut your right it sounds like your u bolts were too damn loose and just sheared the pin off.
