I just recently purchased a set of 15" travel ES9000s
I noticed it says to mount the "can side" of these down. Can i run run them with the "can side" up? I could use the extra room of mounting them upside down to clear other suspension components - but i wasnt sure about adverse effects.
I searched but found lots of stuff about Ranchos and not much else.

Run them can down - they will last longer and work better.

you must mount the ES9000 can side down. It will not work at all the other way. That shock is not completely filled with oil and will suck air past the valve if not run correctly.

all twin tube shocks AKA cheap shocks need to be run can down. There is an inside and out side tube. Both tubes have fluis in them. THere is a valve between the tubes at the bottom. Fluid transfers between tubes and this can only happen if the can is mounted down. Other wise you will suck air and FUCK the shock
