Heres the story. Had a red top and it kept on goin dead after being charged. Took it auto zone and it was bad. So I bought a new batter and it went dead after driving the truck for a couple of days. Next, took the altenator out and got it checked. Its good. My battery light on my gauges is constantly on now. Any suggestions? Thanks. Oh, and now I can't seem to find the search button lol on here. lol

I love gel cell batteries but have had nothing but charging problems with them. Is your new batery a gel cell?

The Optima Red top batteries, as I was told from a guy at a car stereo shop, can only be cycled, run dead, 4 times and they're trash. I was told that the yellow tops are the best. I've always run Die Hards and the one in my burban lasted me 5 years and they gave me $30 back on it.

Have abused a red top in my Toy for about eight years. If you could only cycle it four times it would have not lasted the first two years...
