It took everything my buddies 6.0l Cruiser on 42s had to get us up the hill. I never want to be towed dead stick again!
I turned it off the minute my front fender went under so I thought I might have gotten lucky. We winched it out, pulled the plugs and cranked it over. Lots of water but no noise. Put the plugs back in and it fired right up. Unfortunately, with a light knocking sound, otherwise it was running normally. That was until it went under again on the way back across the creek:shaking:. After that we just hooked it up and headed out.
Couldn't do that Jack! Instead I was able to find a new water pump that relocated the water outlet so I could route the air intake where it belonged. Now it's set up like everybody else's and they had no issues at any crossings and the water was at 400cfs that weekend.
We'll keep you posted on the carnage..
Sorry for the sideways photo.
