Here is a few pics of my single seat project. My intention is to build a buggy with really common parts(but still have four wheel steering)and keep my budget around 5k.

Here is the specs:
1.5 dom chassis(built by me)
1991 honda civic d16 with auto trans(diff will be welded in the trans)
2) Toyota mini-truck steering axles(the rear housing flipped for offset drive line)5.29s welded
full hydro front and rear
4 14 inch Tony K airshocks.
still deciding 37 or 40inch tires!!!
This should weigh under 1700LBS(without me of coarse)
Here is a few chassis build up pics!

Nice work. The Toy axle flip/cut+turn could be its own thread.

You cut out the center of the housing, spun it 180º, welded it back on to protect the ring gear in its new orientation.

Cut & turned the knuckles 180º minus whatever you needed for caster

Redrilled 4 stud holes and plugged 4 old ones.

Anything else? Going to truss the new bottom?

I cut the cover portion off of the housing 180'd it and welded it back on(or the third wouldnt go back in),the holes two top two bottom.....I just drilled the upper and lower hole slightly lager and it went right back on.(normal orientation, since the honda doesnt require reverse rotation of the diffs).

there is a pic with some info about axle strenghth here...

very cool, will be a killer light wheeler! What are you planning for the steer hydro's?
I recently saw a six inch travel double ended ram on a buggy my buddy just bought and so if I can find out who makes it and it wont cost a arm & a leg then thats my plan.I am going to adapt a gm p-series pump to this engine(probably the only real trick piece for this built because I have to face the pump at the front of the engine since a honda spins backwards!!!)

Looks pretty sweet :D Any thought on the shift linkage yet?

I got out of Honda's and into Jeep's thinking it would be cheaper....should have stuck to the 1320.
