I am pulling the 4.3L engine out of my 4Runner for a rebuild, but I can't decide on what exactly to remove: should I take out the engine/Tcase/Trans, or disconnect the trans from the Tcase and remove the trans/engine, or disconnect the trans and just remove the engine? I have an AA Tcase plate that lets it slide on the support, so I am leaning towards disconnecting the Tcase. The engine is all apart except for the bottom end. Any input would be helpful

thanks

Pulling

Like your father should have ! Pull out !. Just remove the whole fucking thing and give it a once over. I would remove the the t-case and then the engine and tranny, but thats just me. If your gonna wheel it then learn it! Otherwise keep posting till you get it right.

I have always just unbolted the tranny from the engine, easier to get it out then the whole long tranny transfer case combo.
