should swap right over. the only thing I'm not 100% sure about is the plugs to the fuel injectors. I'm assuming you're current '85 has efi... I have the fuel rail, intake etc from an '83 or '84 celica and can check for ya tomorrow. just drop me an email at [email protected] to remind me. the only other thing you want to do, is make sure you pull the computer from the celica. there are slight differences (impovements?) from year to year and not all years are compatible.
just thought of something... brain is working really slow today <IMG SRC="smilies/tongue.gif" border="0"> since you'll probably have the upper intake pulled apart to hook up the wiring anyway, you should be able to just pull the injectors from the 85 and swap them into the 83 fuel rail. also if the injectors are in bad shape, look into getting them rebuilt. DOA can have it done for $119 & they're blueprinted....
I know that there are definately some differences. Whem my throttle body was dying on my 85, I looked at the 83 Celica's TB and it had minor differences, like 4 small hoses going out of the top instead of three. You may want to try to retain as much of your own EFI parts as you can. By all the smog diagrams, the 85 EFI is one of the more simple setups.
However, one nice thing is that you will have the Celica cam. While I can't give you any specifics, a friend of mine has a Celica engine in his truck and seems to think it is much more powerful than his previous truck engine.
