My wife and I got an 88 Cherokee Pioneer. We want to fix it up and get some stuff for it so it doesn't look like a real POS. Is there a way to update the looks of it? For example, will a grill from a newer model bolt over to the 88? What about the interior? The seats are trashed and it's a burgundy interior (ick) I already know I'm most likely going to want to rebuild the motor as it has about 200k on it. Is the 4.0 hard to work on? What about the AW4 transmission? Is it strong enough to hold up to average wheeling? (Nothing drastic) Any tips are greatly appreciated :D

jebus, lots of qs

if you have time an money, and want to, you can swap the frontend of the 97+ rigs onto yours, it looks badass, check genxj.com for that...

you can do a # of things to your interior, you can go to the junkyard and get a grey interior, get an overhead console, get a 97+ speaker part for the rear inside roof...

the 4.0 is pretty easy to work on...get a chiltons or a haynes...the aw4 is a good tranny
