Rick (WLDWUN) confirmed this morning that our friend Tony, the Lookout from Leek Springs Fire Tower in Eldorado National Forest passed away from a heart attack on Sept. 15th in the Tower that he loved.

Our club, the Kyburz Krawlerz, have spent many hours with Tony in that tower. He was a very good man. We have known for some time that he has not been in good health. It is going to be very tough breaking the news to my 5 year old who adores him and contantly talks about him, even though he only met Tony once.

He will be missed.

Just a reminder that Tony Bracketts Celebration of LIfe is October 6th,
2007 1:00 pm at Leek Springs Lookout. Tony who worked at Leek Springs Lookout for the past 15 years passed away on the weekend of September 15.
He will also be honored by the Veterans Association. Immediately following will be a pot-luck & refreshments at the tower unless bad weather occurs, where the event will be held at Lumberyard.

Also in lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the Amador County Animal Shelter, Jackson CA or a charity of your choice.

Thank you

if anyone was planning to attend this memorial, it is going to be held at the Lumber Yard ranger station on Highway 88 due to snow at the tower
