I am looking at the griffin, howe, summit, and speedway motors. Is one any better than the others? They are all in the $150 - $200 range with the speedway being the cheapest..

It would be a 19x22

thanks!

Lots of Griffins out there, the price is right. The tubes are epoxied to the tanks, and some folks say you cant tig to them. Mine was welded with no problems. If they are all under 20 bucks, they are all probably epoxied together. The ones around 4 to 5 hundred are welded together. You should be fine with a Griffin, but I dont know about the rest.

I've got a few years on my griffin now, not a single problem....Now that I'm thinking about it, I'm probably due to change the antifreeze. Bought mine from summit for $180 or so.

I'm sure they all are pretty equal. Friend of mine runs a Modine radiator....another one for your list.

Could be right Brandon. I bought my Griffin just after Labor Day, from summit, and it was epoxy.

edit: Is furnace brazed any better than epoxy?
I recently purchased a Griffin too and it was epoxied...I have never heard of anyone having any problems with the Griffins though...I also just sold mine and I will be getting a howe next though...

I tigged my brackets on my griffin and it was hard to tig to it...but it was done...when I was wire brushing it, it looked like there was a layer of "grease" (it didn't look like it till I started to brush it and then it was kinda obvious)...maybe thats why people have a hard time, they look clean and assume it is:confused:

leanin toward the sppedway motors one for $149, says not epoxy and all that, for that cost if it got damaged I'd get another cause I don't have a tig anyway.

Probably put in the summit racing $75 water pump while I am at, says 30% better flow - who knows but the price is right.

oh, I have a modine right now - only problem is size, need something smaller - and it has plastic caps on it

I have what is almost exactly the speedway motors one (but off e-bay for 20bucks more) and it has worked great. the only thing you might have a problem with is if the angle on the outlet makes routing the hose a pain. I solved this by picking up a set of the flexi stainless hoses off another dude on ebay (no one bids on the black ones) and it works fine as you can get a lot of angle out of those without worry of the hose folding shut.

also a Taurus fan bolts to that size radiator like it was made for it
