Does rancho have a lifetime warranty on their shocks? My friend just gave me 10
rs5000 shocks and he said they are bad. If they do have a warranty how do I warranty the shocks? Lastly, how can I bench test the shocks to see if they are good or not?

I know this is a question but I need to know because i have never dealt with rancho before. Thanks.

I got a few RS9000 shocks warrentied. I just sent them back to 4 Wheel Parts. It was way easy. I don't know about your case since you bought them from someone. Try a local shop that carries them. That might work. I don't know about dealing directly with Rancho. Good luck.

Thanks. I found another post on the warranty deal that gave me alot of good info.

Now has anyone warrantied them and upgraded at the same time for the difference in price?

Also, how do I bench test the shocks? If they leak they are bad but what else to look for? Thanks.

Stores will do the lifetime warrenty if you have the reciept at the place of purchase. I was able to trade mine in for a different model because the dude at the parts store didn't know what he was doing, didn't even check the #'s on the shocks. I just told him what I needed and bingo, I was out the door with new longer shocks! Otherwise it is a same for same swap.

Since my friend gave them to me I have no receipt. I read that some stores dont ask for the receipt and will warranty them.

When I did my So on the cruiser I was running Rancho RS7000's (anyone remember those???) They were pretty much trashed and useless. I called Rancho and they gave me a return number. I took the return number and the old shocks to 4WP (sic) and exchanged them. Now it appears that because the 7000 was not made any more that Rancho will only give credit for the 5000's so I had to pay more for the 9000's anyway. so I got a set of 9012's without any problem. upgrading was no big deal...

Well no luck yet. I went to Desert Rat and Sears today and both wanted a receipt. Maybe i should just call Rancho and pretend to be pissed that I cant warranty my shocks because I "lost" the receipt and see what they can do.
