odd, seen a bunch of the clear turn lights on 45LV's recently in pics(those graveyards in CO)......I don't show anything in my stuff for clear lens. Would seem odd to have clear bib and clear turn lights. what where the bulbs? amber or clear?

but yeah they are original arn't they....cool :)

pretty sure marv has em new in white
I think he has the grille marker lights in the clear. Not sure about the fender turn signals as shown.

Old BMWs had original amber signals that faded perfectly to the clear, Almost like the UV sun rays broke down the orange dye in the plastic.

I thought the same about the bulb color.

The bib lights are clear also. I looked a SOR's book and saw that the 68-74 lenses were offered clear "non USA". Maybe the same for these lights?

I don't have a set of the amber ones to check the lense number against. Maybe someone can check this lense number against theirs.

I can't see any spots that are even close to looking like they used to be amber. The lenses do not have any sun pitting in them that I have seen with faded lenses. These are real clean except for the cracking in the lense.

Since the turn signals are still available with the amber lenses, what are the chances that the non-USA market would have clear ones?

Otherwise, what kind of demand would there be? Would this be something to add to the 45LV taillight lens reproduction?

Just thinking out loud. :D

My '58 parts book calls for the same bulb (RS55302) for the front bib light (parking/turn) and the rear (tail/turn) which tells me they must have run a clear bulb in the clear bib lens. If you were wondering why you have a 2 filament socket in the bib light, but only use one filament in the FJ4x, it's because it was a holdover from the FJ25 which used it as both a parking light and turn signal.

Don't forget that the bib light is only a parking light. When wired correctly at the rotary light switch, the parking lights are not on when the headlights are on.

that just doesn't make sense! Would ya get pulled over for that?
This was from Pimp when I just didn't understand the wiring before!

And I just still can't resize tonight!
Probably would get pulled over. I wired the lights on my 25 switch to be the more conventional "Parking" or "Parking and Headlight". I also run amber bulbs in the clear lens. It's not right, but a hell of a lot safer.

rgentry-

You da man! :cool2:

I was looking at SOR's catalog and it wasn't listing it. I went to their web site and put in the number you posted and sure enough it's there.

Well I'll have to put them on the list. They want some cash for those things!

Youch!
