I took my truck out a couple weeks ago to help pull out another stuck truck. First time off road in a good month. Well every since then when I push in my clutch when slowing down with the breaks on I get this sound of metal rattling around. Sounds like its in the tranny area. Anyone have any idea what this is?

It doesn't do it when I don't push in the clutch and slow down.

Note the truck does vibrate badly because of warped rotors.

I also replaced clutch 2 months ago, didn't do it after I replaced it. 22RE

Well, since the noise is there only when the clutch is depressed, chances are the Throw out bearing is being nice enough to dump on you. Generally if the tranny was going out, it would make the noise all the time. I guess this is good news for you since a TOB is so cheap, but still a little labor intensive. Hope this helps a liitle bit.

How in the hell could the new TOB be out, its only 2 months old! The old one was 10 years old and didn't rattle

Stranger things have happened. I've seen it many times, generally with people using after market clutch kits. I've installed three consecutive TOB's from Auto zone that all squeeled and/or rattled. There would be more of a high pitched "whine" in all the gears if your tranny was starting to peter out, this is caused by gear clearances being to loose. What is the milage of your rig? Does the noise go away when your foot is off the clutch pedal? What clutch kit did you use? How roudy (if at all) did you get when you pulled out the other rig? Tell me more.

Mine did the same thing exactly. Turned out to be that little tin piece of crap "mud guard" for the O2 sensor had cracked at the base. I just tore it off and haven't worried about it.

I have reason not to believe it is my TOB. It just does it when I am slowing down and the truck is bouncing a bit.
33,000 miles.
Didn't get rough at all.

I put a clutch into my little sisters Isuzu trooper a few months back. The throwout bearing died anfter about 10 miles, and I had to pull the trany again.

same thing, ratle noise when depressed. It was also hard to shift.

I'd also check the motor/tranny mounts.
