1st, the fact that you don't know if it has a L/S Scares ME!!!!! Hopefully, you haven't had the cover off yet, and thats why you don't know.... With out pulling the cover, you can read the tag on the diff, it will have your ratio stamped into it, and in between the numbers it will have an "L" if it is a L/S. If no tag, then when you pull the cover look for the big spring that is stuck in the carrier, that looks like it is pushing on your spider gears, if you have a spring, than it is L/S. And the answer to your question,..... putting the friction additive in an open rear end will not do anything, but cost you more money, it won't hurt a thing..
well all the axle tags have been yanked off(not by me) and i haven't pull the cover yet, prolly will this weekend but now i know what to look for and all... yea i have some modifier that my uncle gave me he works at a car lot and i didn't want to add it and screw something up thanx man
