I'm looking to upgrade my 2.4L powered Series III Land Rover to a 3.0L turbo but would need a rear sump oil pan to clear the front diff. Did Mercedes ever do this with a 3.0L? If not, can the existing oil pan be reveresed on the engine? Will I'm at it, can the standard-shift flywheel from a 2.4 be used on the 3.0? I've not seen too many standard 3.0s and if it's an internally balanced engine I would think the flywheel could be used.
