I blew one up. Like a grenade. Early bronco w/33s spinning doughnuts, on a flat muddy field. After driving w a detroit and spool I will go the cheap predictable route from now on.

Hey.. the search did work! I have a broken ratchiting pins gear thingy ma bob in my detroit. Its locked all the time and will not ratchet. It broke when one of my Warn Hubs took a shit on me.

Is the gear thingy ma bob hard to replace? Is it expensive... any and all details would be great!

I have about 4 years and 60,000 miles on my soft locker, with out a problem. It has almost become invisible while driving on asfault, or maybee I am just really use to it. U can't go wrong with either a Detroit locker, or a spool.

Do they make a rebuild kit???

I have a "no spin" old style unit that is getting a little sloppy, I wouldn't mind slaping some new parts in it. I think it only 6-8?? years old, and lived most of its life behind a V8.

Nope... and you will pay alot of money for the parts that you do need. The locker itself is only $400 - $450 new. I had to pay $170 for just one gear that went inside the stupid thing. Do like I did and cut your losses. Go buy an ARB!
