OK
I purchased a nice rust free Sammi last night to puddle around in.
I may even drive it to work and use as a light wheeler.
Im gonna swap in some toy axles ASAP . I first however want to get the thing a little more horses and clean it out .

I have a built 88 sammi but its got a 22re in it.

what all should I do to this thing to clean up the engine compartment???
What needs to remain hooked up on this carb???

Any cheap carbs that will bolt up to this thing besides buying a weber?
I think I heard somewhere about a ford courier carb working.

What's wrong with the carb you've got?

Clean it, rebuild it - don't change it.

Everything under my hood is stock configuration.
Runs great - even runs on it's side.

Unless you're going to do a engine swap, tune it up and drive it.

A quick fix to let it breath better is put a 2-inch exhaust on it.

OK I started removing all the hoses and electrical doodads from the sammi carb and it starts and runs fine but it wont idle after a bit and will die.
It will continue to run if I keep the rpms up.

I unhooked the computer and also made a new air filter setup from a piece of tobe and a cone shaped air filter.

Anyway to hook up a manual choke on this carb???

mine won't run for crap with all of that SHIAT removed, go over to the local zuk dealer and ask them to look at the factory manual, they'll print off all the diagrams for the hoses and electrics for you, and you'll be surprised how great that thing will run on angles.... Ditching all that stuff would be great in theory, but i tried and it just wasn't so.... I may be able to get you all those diagrams if you need... Hugh
