...How much does the distance between springs affect the travel/articulation?

I guess you guys always use the same springpacks and always mount under the frame, I'm just wondering if one were to outboard the springs by, say, 2" each side, what kind of effect would you expect? More specifically, would the articulation still be great, without the INSANE rear-end-only-flex I see out of some of the 1/4-equipped trucks?

Thanks.

I would doubt mounting the springs 2" further out would matter at all. Actually having the spring force further out should make it more stable. I think the springs position is mostly a matter of convience and clearance. If you are worried about loosing travel, just run longer leafs.

Having the rear travel waaayy more than the front is more dependant on front suspension designs and capabilities vs. rear design. I.e. having a stock front suspension and then a fully custom rear. You will get more out of the rear because thats what it was designed specificly for.

Hope that helps.
